Postdoctoral Scholars

We are always interested in hearing from intelligent, motivated individuals whose research interests align with the lab’s. Please send a CV and description of your research interests to Prof. Dunlop. In your email you should explain why you are interested in the group and how you could see yourself contributing.

Candidates should have conducted Ph.D. research in bioengineering, microbiology, molecular biology, synthetic biology, biophysics, computer science, chemical engineering, or a related field. The ideal candidate will be familiar with some of the following areas, with extensive expertise in one or more of the topics: microbiology, optogenetics, microfluidics, single-cell analysis, feedback control, time-lapse microscopy, antibiotic resistance, metabolic engineering, or machine learning. Individuals with strong microbiology skills and a demonstrated interest in quantitative science or engineering are encouraged to apply. We are also interested in candidates with strong programming, control theory, or machine learning backgrounds who have a demonstrated interest in microbiology or bioengineering.

Graduate Students

Ph.D. students typically spend their first year doing rotation projects before selecting a lab to join. Please apply directly to the program that is most relevant given your background and interests. I currently can advise students in Biomedical Engineering, MCBB, and Bioinfomatics.

Undergraduate Students

We are not currently looking for undergraduate researchers.
